I could not delve too much into this game since somebody screwed around with my tablet USB cable yesterday and forgot to mention anything about it. So I had to work with the precious few percentile points that were left. It wasn't too hard though. It's not like Falcon Squad is something I had never seen before.
"Guardians of the Galaxy"? Of course, you can strap on any pompous title to a bullet hell shooter and then be done with it. Only the Japanese put their brain power to work more in this regard it seems. Ah well, I don't care what needs guarding, protecting, or otherwise achieving. All I care is to navigate through waves of incoming drones and fight off glamourous boss ships.
I did get that in Falcon Squad. Indeed, the enemies vary from stupid flying rocks to big stupid shooting flying rocks. As we've seen before, your ship can be upgraded, morphed, and augmented with up to two smaller Gatling gunships.
The very first mission puts you at the helm of the most powerful ship in the game, fully equipped and banging, only to be struck down very theatrically by the first boss. You then continue from the ground up. I appreciate this idea, as it gives you the right perspective over what to expect as you progress.
What else? The music is funky, but not overly exciting. Graphics are nice looking, which is generally a hit & miss business when using oversized pixels.
Go and have some fun! Falcon Squad may not be very original, but as any bullet hell shooter, it's perfect for venting off stress.
